Youth & Education
Support confidence, communication, life skills and reflection among young people.
We help individuals, organisations and communities use 5asideCHESS to create connections, encourage reflection and support personal development.
"Your 1st Move is HELLO."
We provide the training, materials and ongoing support to help you bring 5asideCHESS into your own organisation or community.
We believe the people closest to a community are often best placed to understand its needs, challenges and opportunities.
Rather than delivering services directly, we equip individuals to use 5asideCHESS as a tool for connection, reflection and positive change.
We can also help connect organisations with trained and accredited individuals who may be able to support their ideas.
Whether you're working in education, sport, community development, rehabilitation or personal development, we'd love to explore what's possible together.

Support confidence, communication, life skills and reflection among young people.

Bring people together, encourage meaningful conversations and strengthen connections across generations.

Explore teamwork, behaviour, personal development and new ways of connecting people.

Develop the skills and confidence to facilitate meaningful connections in your local community.
Four moves. One shared goal: making meaningful connections.
Every journey starts with a conversation.
Tell us what you'd like to achieve, the challenges you're facing or the change you'd like to make.
We'll explore how 5asideCHESS might support your idea and begin thinking about what could be possible.
After our initial conversation, we'll invite you to complete the Connect 5 challenge.
By connecting with five different people through 5asideCHESS, you'll experience the process for yourself and begin exploring how it could work in your own setting.
This first challenge helps us develop your idea together while giving you a better understanding of the power of connection.
Now it's time to develop your idea.
Working alongside your mentor, you'll create a practical pathway document outlining your aims and how you plan to achieve them.
Through your next 25 connections, chess-based puzzles, real-life experiences and guided reflection, you'll build your understanding and confidence.
You'll explore how lessons from the chessboard can be applied to real situations, behaviours and challenges.
Put your learning into practice and begin using 5asideCHESS within your organisation or community.
Accredited facilitators participate in monthly, one-hour supervision sessions with their mentor, sharing experiences, reflecting on challenges and continuing their connection journey.
Through practical puzzles, real-life examples and guided reflection, you'll continue developing your understanding and working towards your goals.
Ongoing monthly supervision is a requirement for maintaining 5asideCHESS facilitator accreditation.
Every project is different, but there are often similarities in the challenges faced by people, communities and organisations.
We'll work with you to understand your needs and develop a suitable approach.
These are indicative costs for one person. Training and support for groups or organisations can be discussed individually.
You don't need a fully formed plan.
Whether you're an individual with an idea or an organisation looking to make a difference, we'd love to hear what you're thinking.
Every journey starts with a conversation.
